Peonies are almost ready! They are one of the rare flowers in our yard that we do not cut for vases and simply just enjoy. ⭐️ Fun fact! I use the greenery all through the summer and fall as filler in our bouquets. ⭐️ walk around your yard and look for some other greenery you may be able to use… what did you find!? We have 76 plants and counting from our dahlia station — nothing fancy, but it sure does work! Farmer Blake has done amazing with our tubers from last year. I’m just here for moral support! 😉

✨We choose joy!✨We’re counting our blessings and choosing joy this week. The sun is shining… so why not! ☀️ Although not as pretty as we’d like, Snapdragons are in the ground. ➡️ Seeds that were lost have been reordered, irrigation is going in, sunflowers have been started, started trays disinfected. Lanphiers are on it!

😔 Sad morning over here with a big dose of reality ••• Jack Frost was not nice to our starts overnight. We lost about half of our starts in this temp controlled hoop house and will have to start all new trays. Frustrated that Mother Nature will just not cooperate, but we know that’s apart of it. Onward and upward 🌱

A full days work after a full days work 💪🏼 I weed most of our beds throughout the spring and early summer patch by patch all by hand. We play some music, get a comfy towel to sit on, and get to gettin! I find it works best for long term weed-management… and maybe a little perfectionism sprinkled in there 😜

🌳Peony patch and the Hydrangea row are coming along! We’ve invested in 6 hydrangeas of all different colors AND worked hard the last few years to split and transplant our peonies which took some patience! We love both in full bloom and are excited to add some more blooms into the mix 🌳#localflowers #freshcutflowers #hydrangealove #peonyflower

🚨Employment update 🚨 The farm hand is still hard at work prepping the seeds and watering all around the yard. “Mom this is crazy we have to do this every year, it’s sweaty work”. Safe to say our complaint box is full from this one! KIDDING! We all love working together as a family— makes it that much more special. She’s excited for selling season… “that parts fun!”
